Dear Pastor,

God has called our family to reach the unreached people groups of the West Nile Region in Uganda.  In a region the size of Israel, with a population nearing 5 million, our family is currently the only missionary influence dedicated to this needy area.  I cannot begin to express to you the depths of our need for a partnering family to work alongside our family.  Joe and Lindsay Risinger are so dear to our hearts and have been more a blessing to us than I can say.  Our time together recently in Uganda confirmed in our hearts the leadership of our Lord in teaming up to reach these people.  The unity and fellowship was powerful and fulfilling.  In short, we really need this family to labor along side of us.

I am a firm believer in the team concept that the Apostle Paul practiced.  Would you prayerfully consider taking this couple on for prayer support and financial support?  They are committed to Christ in every way, and are mature well beyond their years.  Our children pray weekly and sometimes daily for their soon arrival in Uganda.  With a 95 acre compound, a number of workers, cooks, translation team, and Bible Institute, the need is great.

I know the deputation time can stretch out over many years, but we are praying that the Lord would put this family on the field in a relatively short time.  What a blessing to have you be a part of the great work God is doing in reaching this precious region for Jesus Christ!

Dear Brethren in Christ:

I am thrilled to recommend to you Joe Risinger Jr. and his family as missionaries for the West Nile Region of Uganda.  Joe and Lindsay have been faithful servants of the Lord in the ministry of Lighthouse Baptist Church in South Bend, IN, for over eight years.

We have watched Joe and Lindsay develop in their love for people and in effectiveness of outreach.  They have both been involved in soul-winning and discipleship ministries, as well as personally imparting themselves to individuals through the Lord’s leadership.  They have been both able and willing to serve in teaching ministries, music ministries, and various needs within the church, proving to be a blessing and encouragement to their pastor and church family.

Joe has an excellent work ethic and he is of the highest character.  He relates well to people, is congenial, and is very capable in ministry and administration.  His ministry experience coupled with his experience in business and accounting has prepared him uniquely for the mission endeavor to which the Lord has led him.

I have appreciated Joe and Lindsay’s heart for God, for the church, and for their family.  They have the type of Christian faith and love that can only come through a vibrant walk with the Lord.  As they humbly seek His face and seek His leadership, He is building them and nurturing them into choice servants for His work.  I am thankful that I can wholeheartedly recommend to you Joe and his family for the ministry.

If you would like to speak with me regarding any specific questions in considering support of Joe and his family, I would love to hear from you to help in any way I can.  I can be reached at my cell phone, (574) 217-1396.

For the Cause of Christ,
Pastor Joe Risinger Sr.

Pastor Stewart Overmiller

Dear Pastor,

Greetings from South Africa! My name is Stewart Overmiller. I have been serving in South Africa as a missionary for nine and one-half years, along with my wife Judy and our family. We have been with Baptist World Mission fourteen years. I am writing to encourage you to prayerfully consider scheduling the Risinger Family for a deputaion meeting. They are currently raising missionary support to serve in Uganda, where the Lord has called them.

Joe and Lindsay came to help us for seven weeks in 2014 as single young adults, with a group from their church. It was evident from the start they possessed a humble spirit and a burden for people. The entire group was a great help to the ministry. One of the highlights of their trip was helping us restart a ministry that had dwindled down to one or two people. Joe and Lindsay organized a Bible club that saw several young children and teenagers come to the Lord. One of them is now attending a Bible Institute as a full-time student and others are still attending the church regularly.

Joe and Lindsay returned to South Africa as a married couple at the end of 2016 in the beginning of 2017. The purpose of their ministry was to fill in for our missionary partners, which were out of the country for three months. Joe led the congregational singing, preached occasionally, discipled new converts, went soul-winning and helped minister in the public schools. Lindsay taught children’s Sunday school and discipled younger ladies and children. There was nothing that I asked of them that they would not do! They even organized a Christmas Cantata, which was a first for our church.

Some words that stick out to me regarding the Risingers are dependability, flexibility and availability coupled with a servant’s heart. To be honest with you, when we heard that God had called them to missions, we prayed and hoped the Lord will direct them to us. Of all the people and groups that have come to help us over the years, the Risingers would certainly be at the top of the list, in our humble opinion. I am confident the Lord will use them in a wonderful way in Uganda. Therefore, I wholeheartedly recommend them to you and your church family.

Sincerely and in Christ,
Stewart Overmiller

Dear Pastor,

I would like to recommend to you Bro. Joe and Lindsay Risinger who are aspiring missionaries to the West Nile region of Uganda. I have been a missionary in the West Nile myself for the past four years, during which time I had the privilege of hosting and ministering with the Risingers twice. I have found them to be a couple who have a devoted heart for the Lord, and have appreciated their friendship and their humble spirit in ministry.

There are several things I have particularly noted in this young couple that give me a reason to believe they will be effective in ministry here. First of all, I have observed their patience with God’s timing and carefulness in making proper preparations for the ministry. This is not a couple who has the “zeal without knowledge,” but rather they have taken considerable time to seek the Lord for his direction and sought counsel concerning the proper timing and appropriate steps that should be taken. Also, I have witnessed a sincere humility and teachable spirit in their lives. I believe this is the Spirit of God within them, being seen by others in their lives and that the visibility of Christ in them will have a great impact on all that they minister with.

Please prayerfully consider partnering with this couple as they follow God’s call to this fruitful harvest field. There are truly so many open doors of opportunity here for the Gospel, and too few people to do the work. I believe they will see a great harvest in this place and would love to see your church take part in this great mission field

Joyfully in Christ,

Samuel Moss
